Our research group is part of the department of Health, Medical and Neuropsychology at Leiden University, the Netherlands and is led by Prof. dr. Ineke van der Ham.

Spatial performance
We study the assessment of human cognitive performance and the potential to improve it, with a particular interest in spatial cognition. We examine factors that can explain for individual differences, such as gender and age. The populations we study include both healthy individuals and neurological patient groups such as stroke patients and patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

Innovation in neuropsychology
We use innovative techniques in our experiments, including virtual and augmented reality, and digital treatment tools, such as serious gaming. In our work we study how technology can be effectively used to assess and improve cognitive functioning. Furthermore, we have a specific interest in subjective performance measures and how subjective performance affects objective performance.
